We were hands-on with the EA Play event at E3 2019 today and in case you missed the live tweets, here are all the minute-to-minute updates from the floor!

It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles for fragging newbs, juicy reveals and galaxies far, far away. Right from the beginning, there was pure joy. Even though the line had wrapped so far around the enormous Hollywood Palladium that it nearly overlapped itself, gamers who made the journey out for EA’s EA Play 2019 event were laughing, making friends and fired up to be there.

After teasing out the first few minutes of gameplay for Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, the main stage announcements for Apex Legends Season 2 began with some amazing new things for hopeful Legends and weekend warriors to get hyped for. Cheers echoed for the announcement of newcomer Legend Wattson and a new light machine gun, the formidable L-Star!

Battlefield 5 has some really exciting DLC content coming for franchise fans, much of which is coming free in DLC drop 5 – including three completely new maps. We later got hands-on with the new dynamic multiplayer combat setting, Marita (Greece). Our guide, Chris, also talked a lot about the coming Pacific theatre of war that will bring new locations and armies, like the U.S., into the mix.

We made our way through the life-sized build inspired by the iconic Apex Legends Skull Town in King’s Canyon. There were a ton of awesome sights, experiences and distractions that almost (but not quite) threatened to dissuade us from our Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order demo.

Undaunted, we pressed on toward the beckoning power of the Force. Our exclusive closed-theatre gameplay presentation of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was definitely a highlight of the day for me. I have been counting the minutes since the first trailer reveal at Star Wars Celebration.

Check out our first impressions and be sure to keep an eye out for my complete write up of the presentation and what we learned about the title after a full hour of gameplay review.

(Also, please take note of the incredible timing on the thumbnail in part 2 – this is what Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order did to me.)

From there, we had an amazing VIP Tour with our guide, Chris, including hands-on with Apex Legends Season 2, the new Marita Battlefield 5 map, many photo ops with the incredible Legends cosplayers on-site, and catching up with community friends from around the gaming world.

All in all, a pretty amazing first day at E3 and an incredible first E3 launch for this guy. I’m still reeling from the wow factor, and I can’t imagine how it could get even better. There’s a long week ahead, however, and so many mind-blowing experiences on deck here at E3, so make sure you check back often and bookmark the site.

Just wait until you see what we’ve got cooked up with Microsoft’s E3 briefing and the Bethesda conference tomorrow afternoon! “Have a nice day!”
